Hopefully, one day in the future
we'll look back
to this very present
that is to become our past
and see that all our sacrifices
big or small
were worth it.

First, police brutality.
Then the protest.
Followed by watery promises from government.
Protest gets more intense.
Then massacre by the military (20.10.2020)
Hoodlums take over.
More deaths.
Followed by destruction of properties.

FEAR. PAIN. LOSS.

Zero security.

CHAOS.

A sense of powerlessness overwhelms you - spiritually, communally, emotionally, financially.

Now, it is tribal bigotry.

The oppressor has a plan.

They know how to destroy you, in third-world fashion, and get away with it.

Our plan cannot be a bucket of emotions, desperate self-righteousness, and blame-game amongst ourselves.

I know it's been a while but some issues need to be addressed.

What's on the menu today? R.A.P.E.

A lot of people are enabling RAPE CULTURE via entertainment either knowingly or not. Yet come online to #saynotorape. The hypocrisy is pain.

Check skits - the skits that you like and share and applaud. Online advocacy has grey areas because the same people who applaud and share these stupid comedy skits that show a woman going into a room to meet someone, only for the door to be locked and the keys thrown to hades because a man likes the size of her breasts or butt are the same people who will join the voices online to end rape and assault.
All you need to do is STOP. Stop enabling Rape Culture. Just stop. Stop promoting it with your views, likes, shares, comments, and endorsement. How hard can it be?

In honour of Female genital mutilation/cutting (FG

In honour of Female genital mutilation/cutting (FGM/C) which was yesterday it will interest the general public to know that FGM/C is any procedures that cause injury to the female external genitalia without medical causes. According to the World health organisation latest update; over 200 million girls and women alive today have been cut in the Middle East, Africa and Asia. .

Its complications are either physical (range from bleeding and infection to death), psychological (such as anxiety and post traumatic stress) or sexual. .

•

All forms of FGM are associated with increased health risk in the short- and long-term. FGM is a harmful practice and is unacceptable from a human rights as well as a public health perspective, regardless of who performs it. Some health care providers perform FGM (medicalization), but OrphansCorp is opposed to all forms of FGM and strongly urges health care providers to not carry out FGM even when their patient or their patient’s family requests it. .

I have always had a thing for advocacy and helping

I have always had a thing for advocacy and helping people most especially selfless contributions to people and communities. So when @orphanscorp reached out to me last year about expanding their outreach to Oyo state I was more than happy to join the train of people whose vision aligned with mine.
•
Fast forward to hosting our very first outreach in Ibadan, Oyo state. It was a book corp. We went around schools to give branded exercise books and educational materials to children from low income families. It was a big success. Big ups to our National Leader, Mitchel and the amiable oyo team members.
•
Late June 2019, I was made the project coordinator for Oyo state.
•

We are also in Portharcout, Akwa-Ibom, Lagos and Abuja💜💜.

If you are not quite where you want to be do you feel it's because you were not given the right opportunities or maybe you did not really take advantage of the opportunities given?

UNCERTAINTY IS A PRECIOUS OPPORTUNITY. EMBRACE IT

Learning to thrive and enjoy in the unknown doesnt happen overnight. It's not an aha-aha moment. Its not something you do once, it's a process where each time you do something you previously consider impossible no matter how small just something you haven't done before. It increases your confidence. Now you did it and it becomes your new standard from where you judge yourself and your decisions. It is a dynamic search where we are constantly learning and rediscovering ourselves.
•
I understand if many of you agree with this but its easier said than done. So how can I start is the question a lot of you will ask. That's the trick, it doenst really matter you just have to start. ACTION INSPIRES MOTIVATION.
•
Start with the very easy next step. Let's say you want to study abroad and you dont have the means there's plenty of scholarships pages online. Just create a free account in one of those pages. JUST DO THE VERY FIRST THING and in that you will find the motivation to do the next thing and on and on untill you find your WAY. •
It's not always an easy ride but it's the only way you can push fear aside and get closer to the person you wish to become.

IN THE END WE ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE LIFE WE BUILD FOR OURSELVES 💜💜💜.

I have always been passionate about girl child emp

I have always been passionate about girl child empowerment, education and the fight for gender equality which is why since 2017 I have been lending my voice and writings to this course. I would have loved to make a video with a few girl child advocates or even collaborate with NGOs working on this course but my schedules lately have been really occupying and highly demanding. Having said that, this day can’t go without an obligatory post. •

Your magic crystal ball will save me from a lot of unforeseen circumstances because I would have seen them beforehand. Ha! Ha! That’s on a lighter mood. Now, back to our main discourse.

There's absolutely no crime in being ambitious or

There's absolutely no crime in being ambitious or wanting to be at the top. There shouldn't be anything like gender-related jobs. Whatever job a woman's interest lies in, she should go for it rather than allow society to tell her otherwise.

Though, there are certain things only men can do such as being a sperm donor or a father. Things like being an egg donor, a surrogate, wet nurse and a mother can only be performed by a woman. They are not categorically jobs even though one might earn a substantial amount from them. Other than these, all other jobs can be performed either by a male or female as long as interest and passion are strongly present.

One of the amazing examples I shared about how literacy can change people's lives is how
Literacy opens the window to enlightenment.

Enlightenment is the kind of awareness that brings change. The kind of awareness that makes you throw out every last bit of junk food at home and replace with fruits.
__
Enlightenment is the secret sauce to a new life. That is why, often times, there is usually massive rebellion by the oppressors towards any process that could lead to the eyes of the oppressed being lit!
__
For there to be any kind of positive change in the lives of people, there first has to be a renewal of mind and a process leading to unlearning old dogmas and relearning novel ideas. That is the kind of revolution of the mind, literacy brings about; it opens the window to a life of enlightenment. The Taliban oppressors knew this. On October 9, 2012, while on a bus in the Swat District after taking an exam, Malala Yousafzai was shot by a Taliban gunman in an assassination attempt for her rebellion towards the “no education for girls” policy by the Taliban.
