As humans, we have to consciously learn to be very comfortable with who we are, provided we are not hurting anyone.
Whatever you fancy, go all out. Be you. Be free. Respect others opinion and lifestyle but be free to be you.
I have seen a lot of people trying to succumb to pressure and copy the lifestyle of others for fear of being unaccepted among their social status. Some go ahead to deny who they are because they don’t want to be termed local, conservative or old-fashioned or even tagged sinners. Please be free. Be you. You have got only one life. Be all that you are.
Here are a few of my favorite quotes about living your best life;
If you are one who eats with your fingers in public, its okay. Do you fancy a name change when you get married? By all means, change your name. Do you desire to be with a trendy man? Go ahead. Do you like your woman in trousers, make up? Go ahead and date one. And if you are one who feels good with makeup, trousers and hair extension, look good and be happy.
Remember, living your best life now also entails embracing who you are, not who you are not.
Below is an extract from “Nothing You Don’t Already Know” by Alexander den Heijer
“Some people spend their lives trying to create the perfect condition to live, without really living.
Too many of us believe happiness is a future event. And before we arrive we need more money first, have a successful career, find a partner, settle down. And only then will we arrive at the destination of happiness. But when we arrive, we will realize happiness isn’t there.
Happiness is not found at the finish line. There isn’t even a finish line. Life is not a race to be finished; its a dance to be danced. And only if we allow ourselves to enjoy the dance, can we let happiness in.
One day your life will flash before your eyes and you don’t want to see a slide show of all the things that turned out to be irrelevant in your life. Life is happening right now. We have got one shot. Taste the thrill of life. Have the full experience. Live your best life.
The point of living isn’t to arrive at the future; it is to arise in the present.”
